Edith Velda WarrenABILENE, TXEdith Velda Warren, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Roy Meksch officiating. Burial will follow in Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday evening, December 2, 2016 at the funeral home. Edith was born on March 19, 1922 in Putnam, Texas to the late James and Clara Maude Davenport Foller. She attended schools in Mosheim, TX and married J.W. Warren on October 28, 1938. They moved to Abilene in 1942. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her son, James Virgle Warren; and three brothers, Walter Foller, Ernest Foller, and Lewis Foller; and one sister, Flora Jesensky. Survivors include three daughters, Edith Irene Clendennen of Abilene, Clara Pauline Bentley of Abilene, and Rebecca Ann Blackwell of Clyde; three sisters, Clara Wright of Conroe, TX, Lela Collins of McGregor, TX, and Eva Jane Buettemeyer of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
