Mr. Edgar "Richard" Jernigan, 71, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on 6/1/2015 after a short illness at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was born on 6/29/1943 in Providence, RI, to the late Edgar and Eva Jernigan, but was raised in Charleston, SC. He served 3 years in the Navy. Mr. Jernigan retired from Pinellas County and Ring Power (Lake City, FL). He was working part-time with DSI as a Security Guard. Richard enjoyed scuba diving, canoeing, boating, motorcycling and reading. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jernigan, Lake City, FL; three sons, Trevor Simmons (Karen) of Anderson, SC, Robert Bryce Cosdon (Barb) of Kailua Kona, HI, Anthony A. Cosdon (Sarah) of Clearwater, FL, a sister, Katie Rooney (Doug) of Jennings, FL, three grandchildren, Hope, Laine and Braxton, as well as several cousins.
