Travis, Earl LewisEarl Lewis Travis, age 62, of Corning, NY died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.Earl was born on October 20, 1954 in Bath, NY to Howard and Helen (Smith) Travis. He married Judith Coleman on June 6, 1988 in Virginia Beach, VA. He served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1980. Earl worked for Corning Incorporated at the Erwin Plant for 35 years and retired February 1, 2017.He is survived by his wife Judy; three sons, Michael Travis, Cory Travis and Jesse (Dana) Coleman; granddaughter, Camille Coleman; brothers, Howard (Cathy) Travis and Donald Travis; nieces and nephews, Emily Roe, Shawn Roe, Thomas Roe, Howie Travis, Jeff Travis, Bob Coleman, Joe Coleman, Sean Smith, Stephanie Smith, Samuel Smith, Erin Travis; several great nieces and great nephews; sisters-in-law, Marie Coleman, Donna Roe, and Mary Coleman. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronald Smith.Earl was devoted to his wife Judy. He loved the outdoors. His favorite activities were hunting and fishing with his nephew Shawn. He loved spending time with his family, always looking for a reason to gather and celebrate. No one was safe from Earl's jokes and kidding, he made everyone laugh and he was so generous with his craftsmanship.A special thank you to Care First, Karen Nelson and his niece and nephews, Emily Roe, Shawn Roe and Thomas Roe, for their endless devotion to caring for Uncle Earl.Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 10th from 4 - 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 11th at St. Vincent de Paul, 222 Dodge Avenue in Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. Memorial donations may be made in Earl's name to Corning Meals On Wheels, 144 Cedar Street, Corning, NY 14830 or to All Saints Parish, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830. Earl's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
