Earl Touchstone was born on December 13, 1932, to R. Voy and Maybe Touchstone in Fresno, CA, the youngest of four children, Joe, Jack, and Leona, who all predeceased him. Earl passed away on November 11, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to his beloved wife of 52 years, Bernice, who preceded him on September 3, 2008, he was lost without her. Now they are reunited in Heaven as they were here on earth.His "best buddy" and only son Rick Touchstone passed away on December 6, 2011. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Ana Touchstone, grandson Matthew Touchstone and granddaughter Shannon Touchstone, daughters Cheryl (George) McCraw and Pam (John) Hill; his brother-in-law Harvey (Staci) Winter and sister-in-law, Velma Thompson. Earl had 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He especially loved his "little girls" Kayleigh and Lindy Touchstone, and Marley and Ellie Dickey. Earl also leaves behind his extended family; Randy Perrone, Ana M. Smith, Susanna, Tim, Emily, Nicholas, and Josh Cox, Cindy Smith, Henry Smith, Mike, Pat, and Sean Smith; who loved and cherished "the Earl of Touchstone".He spent his last years with his family, surrounded by their love and affection for him. Earl always put his family first and provided well for them. He was a man of many talents and could fix just about anything. He loved to tinker on his lawnmowers and loved to work with wood, making many pieces of furniture. He was a proud Marine and served in the 1st Marine Division, D Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment. He fought for his country with honor and distinction. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Korean War Medal, and a Defense Service Medal for injuries sustained while serving and great valor shown. Earl showed great dedication, honor, and integrity in all areas of his life; he worked for ARCO for 32 years, before retiring. He loved his family and the Lord deeply. He was a hardworking and honest man who showed through his work ethic, honesty, and love, through his commitment to his wife, Bernice and his family, even when confronted with personal and family tragedies. He never gave up and always stood by his principles and the truth. He was a good man and trustworthy friend. He will be greatly missed until we meet again. It was an honor to call him Dad, Papa, and friend. We love you, Earl. Always and Forever.Services will be held November 19, 2016, at 2pm., at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane Bakersfield, CA 93313.
