Streich, Douglas R. "Skip"Douglas R. "Skip" Streich age 85, a Manitowoc resident, died unexpectedly Friday, March 10, 2017 at his residence. Skip was born on October 11, 1931 in Fond du Lac, son of the late Ralph and Juanita (Peterke) Streich. He grew up and attended school in Two Rivers. He was a United States Naval Veteran serving from 1949-1953 during the Korean Conflict. Skip sailed on the USS Valley Forge aircraft carrier. On June 23, 1961, He was married to the former Katherine F. "Kibby" Karlin in Illinois. Kibby preceded him in death on April 29, 1999. Skip was very proud of his career as a truck driver. He was a beloved man that simply loved his family. Survivors include his three children: Barbara (Gerald Novak) Broehm, Manitowoc; Michael (Cheri) Streich, Manitowoc; Connie (Robert) Kolbeck Jr., Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Briana (Oscar Galvez) Broehm, Las Vegas, NV; Sara Mraz and her fiancé: Aaron Leist, Manitowoc; Brandon Kolbeck, Manitowoc; Spencer Streich, Manitowoc; three great grandchildren: Leana, Alexander and Julian of Las Vegas, NV; and step grandchild to be: Lucy Leist, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.Private family services will be held at a later date, burial of his cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Streich family with arrangements.
