It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Solomon Nettles Jr. on June 13, 2023, in his hometown of Darlington, South Carolina.

Douglas, also known as "Doug" to his friends and family, was born on Valentine's Day in 1968, and he lived his life to the fullest until his untimely passing.

He was a beloved member of the community, known for his kind heart and infectious sense of humor. Doug had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In his younger years, Doug was a bit of a wild child. He loved nothing more than getting lost in nature and exploring the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and spent many days on the water, trying to catch the "big one."

Later in life, Doug settled down and started his own family. He was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the center of his world. His children were his pride and joy, and he always spoke with great fondness about his wife.

When he wasn't spending time with his family, Doug could often be found cheering on his beloved Gamecocks or catching up with friends over a cold beer.

Doug's passing leaves a hole in the heart of the Darlington community, but we take comfort in knowing that he touched so many lives during his time with us. We will always remember his infectious smile and the joy he brought to our lives.
