IDALOU-Dorris Jean Lemon, a lifelong resident of Idalou passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born on Dec. 21, 1929, in Idalou to Claude ""C.E."" and Edna (Martin) Newton. She married Jimmy Lemon on Oct. 1, 1960, in Levelland, Texas and they began their family together, she was a member of the Idalou First Baptist Church.Dorris is survived by two sons, J.B. Lemon and his wife Jeanie of Idalou, and Calvin Lemon and his wife Sandra of New Deal; one daughter, Diann Lemon of Lubbock; brother, Arthur Newton and wife Merrijon of Idalou; seven grandchildren, Clint Lemon, Ginger Parnell, Curtis Lemon, Amanda Lemon, Staci Ramsey, Beau Davidson and Rochelle Davidson; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy in 2012; her parents; children, Garland Sexton, Mary Katherine Sexton, Darryl Lemon and his wife Rhena.Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016. Graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the City of Lubbock Cemetery, with Rev. Vestal Blakely officiating.
