Dorothy (West) WestlakeDorothy Mae Tracy (West) Westlake 93, Springfield, Mo. passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, in Strafford Care Center. She was born on May 25, 1923 in Fair Grove, Mo. to Alvin Henderson Tracy and Sarah Emily (Minor) Tracy. The last of 11 children, she graduated at 16 as an honors student. She went to nursing school at Memorial Hospital, in in Houston, TX. She later worked at V.A. hospitals in in Poplar Bluff, MO. Littlerock, Ark, Wichita, Ks. and O'Reilly General Hospital, in Springfield, Mo, Baptist Hospital, which later became Park Central, now Lakeland. She was a long-time member of Boulevard Baptist Church. She married William L. West, on January 2, 1952, at the First Baptist Church Chapel, in Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by her first husband William West and her second husband, Clinton Westlake, and her son; Timothy Brian West. Survivors include her two sons; William (Bill) West Jr. and his wife Karen, of Belgrade, Montana, Dennis West and his wife Jeanine, Springfield, Mo. and her daughter; Cheryl Horton and her husband Don, Springfield, Mo. her daughter-in-law; Nyla West, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one due in March, along with several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Cedar Bluff Cemetery, near Fair Grove, Mo. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial donations are suggested to Boulevard Baptist Church.
