Dorothy V. "Sandy" Hoard 1926 - 2016Dorothy V. "Sandy" Hoard, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Friday October 21, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on June 28, 1926 in Illiopolis to Edwin and Helen Cox Sanders. Dorothy married Raymond "Tuffy" Hoard on November 12, 1947 in Bloomington and he survives.Mrs. Hoard is also survived by her son David Hoard of Bradenton, FL., her daughter Susan Hoard of Metairie, LA., seven brothers and sisters: Edwin (Reta) Sanders, Milton (Dorothy) Sanders, Deloris Zimmerman, Sandra Braden, Sharon (Ron) Johnson, Marilyn (Charles) Boyd and Paul (Roberta) Sanders as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers and celebrating just under 69 years of marriage with her beloved husband Raymond.A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:00am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
