PAYNE, Dorothy Anna Age 93, of Shandon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield. She was born on October 6, 1923, in Hamilton County, Ohio the daughter of George and Catherine (Niehaus) Gutzwiller. Dorothy was the dear sister of Agnes Schunk and John, Tony, George, Charlie and Dick Gutzwiller. She was educated at St. John the Baptist School in Dry Ridge. On October 12, 1939, she married Richard E. Payne at St. Michael Catholic Church in Madison, Indiana. She was a long time member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved gardening, living in the country and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving mother to Dorothy (Ron) Rhodus, Mary (Tom) Bulach, Martha (Dick) Bulach, Richard (Lyla) Payne, Edith (Don) Schneider, Christina (Tom) Herold, William Payne, Timothy Payne, Bonita (Bill) Fusiek, Dennis (Robin) Payne, Teresa (Phil) Hetterich, and Joseph (Julie) Payne. She was the beloved grandmother of 42 grandchildren; 92 great grandchildren, and 15 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Payne, Sr.; her sister, Agnes Schunk; four of her brothers, Anthony, John, George and Richard Gutzwiller; one daughter, Dorothy Rhodus; one son, Timothy Payne; four sons-in-law, Ron Rhodus, Dick Bulach, Tom Herold, and Bill Fusiek; two grandchildren, Jerome Bulach and Thomas Rhodus; and one great grandchild, Trinity Herold. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5 8 pm. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Shandon, OH on Tuesday at 11 am with burial following in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
