Dorothy Lucille GogertyJacksonville, FLDorothy Lucille Gogerty, 94, passed away December 24, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on May 27, 1922 in Marshalltown, IA. Dorothy graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1940. She later attended Business College in Marshalltown. Dorothy worked as a policy writer at The Principal until she retired in 1976. Dorothy met her husband Richard when she worked at JC Penny with his sister. They were married on September 11, 1949. Richard preceded her in death in 2013 after 63 years of marriage. Also preceding her were her sisters Mary Buchwald of Marshalltown, IA and Jean Zimmerman of Denver, CO. Dorothy is survived by her son Patrick Gogerty and his wife Sharon in Jacksonville.Dorothy enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes.
