AVON LAKE – Dorothy A. Bergenstein (nee Gorey), 93, of Avon Lake since 1951, passed away from natural causes at Main Street Care Center on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Dorothy was born on May 11, 1923 in Cleveland, and she attended West Tech High School. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Avon Lake. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and ceramics, playing cards and board games, and doing puzzles. Dorothy is survived by her children, Russ (Dolly) of Avon Lake, Connie Hambly (Jim, dec.) of Rising Fawn, GA, John (Mary Beth) of Columbia Station, and Patti Shull (Tom) of Sunset, SC; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons Denny and Bob; granddaughter Jennifer McPeek; brother Richard Gorey; sister Florence Kaleal; and infant sister Alice.
