Doris Virginia TomlinsonThousand Oaks, CADoris Virginia Tomlinson was born on April 12, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to Edmund Haley Brown and Mary Kate Brown. When she was 3 years old she moved with her parents and brother Edmund Jr. from Philadelphia to New York, NY. She attended Walton High School. On June 21, 1947, she married Arthur George Tomlinson. Together they had four children, Carolyn Jane, Arthur George Jr., Robert Wayne and Donna Lynn. Doris served as a Sunday School Teacher and Musical Performance Director for St. Thomas Lutheran Church in NY. She had many talents including sewing, cooking, gardening and art. She moved to Thousand Oaks, CA in 1975 and took up painting, travel, and tennis as her favorite hobbies. Doris and Arthur have been faithful members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1975. Doris went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her brother Edmund Haley Jr. She is survived by her spouse Arthur George Sr, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks on November 5, 2016 at 3PM with Pastor Erik Goehner officiating.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or LA Chapter. www.la.wish.org/donate
