Thompson, 67, of Winamac, IN (formerly of Monon, IN) went Home to be with God and her family at 10:40 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on July 6, 1946 in Rensselaer, IN to the late Clarence and Irene Lewellen Allen. On April 11, 1966, Doris married Wilbur E. "Red" Thompson in Lakeland, FL. Wilbur passed away July 27, 2013. Doris was a longtime resident of White County, IN. She had worked as a nurses aide for 20 years in Wolcott, IN. She also had worked in the deli at Walmart in Monticello, IN. She retired in 2010.Doris was a member of Calvary Temple Church of Monticello, and she was currently attending Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac.She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Cindy.Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include: Son, Daniel W. (Sarah) Thompson, Winamac, IN, granddaughters, Danyell Rae Thompson, Elizabeth Weiss, and Wynona (Joseph) Hadyen, brother, Jim Allen, Monon, IN, and sister, Patricia (Bill) Bell, Yeoman, IN.Preceded in death by: husband, Wilbur E. "Red" Thompson, mother, Irene Lewellen Allen, father, Clarence Allen, sons, Matthew E. Thompson and Joshua Marion Thompson. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM EST Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Pastor David Norris officiating.Burial will take place in Bedford Cemetery, Monon, IN.Visitation will be from 3-8 PM EST Friday, November 22, 2013 at Frain Mortuary.Memorial Contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac or Pulaski Animal Control.
