Doris Jean Hobson, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 91 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on July 30, 1932, in Little Rock Arkansas and lived a long, full, and meaningful life.

Doris was the heart of her family and the go-to person for everyone. She was lovingly referred to as “DJ” by her family and friends. She was a generous soul who always gave her all in everything. She had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. She brought joy to those around her with her infectious laughter and positive outlook on life! Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire and touch the lives of those she left behind.

Doris was a dedicated nurse for 30 years, providing compassionate care to her patients. She was known for her kind and gentle nature, always putting others before herself. Her love for helping others extended beyond her career at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In her free time, Doris enjoyed reading, shopping, and thrifting. She was a skilled cook and loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Above all, she cherished spending time with her loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. Doris especially loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren

Doris Jean is survived by her children, Donna Hobson, Antoinette Hobson, Tammy Tellis, Donna Hobson-Coleman, Marilyn Dumas, Michelle Hobson, Roslyn Isom, Kimberly Higgins. She has 15 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her son Thomas Anthony Hobson Jr and husband Thomas Anthony Hobson Sr. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Antoinette R. Hobson
