Doris CovaultDes MoinesDoris Covault, 77, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at University Park Nursing Center. Doris Dorine was born on August 15, 1939 in Chambers, NE. to Leona (Adams) and Lloyd Gleed.At the age of 6 or 7, Doris learned her love of music and began to play the piano. This love would continue her whole life through. Doris attained her Master's Degree from the Interlochen Art Academy in Michigan. She married her true love, Roger Covault in July of 1971. She taught Vocal Music in Indianola for many years until she retired. After retiring she substituted in the Musical departments at St. Anthony and Holy Trinity Catholic Schools. She also taught piano over the years in her home. Doris kept busy with many musical organizations and music recitals throughout her life.Doris is survived by her loving husband of over 45 years, Roger; daughter, Christy Blevins and step-son, Scott Covault; four step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Armeta Prill; and other loving family and special friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Celesta Cook; son, Steve Blevins and step-daughter, Lisa Meadows.Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
