Doris Ann Van WeeldenOf Pleasant Hill, IowaDoris Van Weelden, 69, passed away on July 10, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on September 17, 1947 in Bremerhaven, Germany. Doris enjoyed reading her books and camping. She loved to drink coffee every day and spend time with her family and friends. Doris retired from Younkers in 2009 after 25 years. She loved to spend time with her dog Missy and even signed cards from her and Missy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 26 years, Michael; children, Michele (Brian) Jobe, Denise Hawthorn, and Marcie (Tony) Wallace; grandchildren, Mike Hawthorn, Robert (Karaline) Eckhoff, Andrew Hawthorn, Anthony Wallace, and Leah Wallace; great-granddaughter, Sophia Nollen; siblings, Jack Townsend, Richard Townsend, and Cindy (Bill) Genzen; and many nieces and nephews.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Anna Marie Townsend; and granddaughter, Macie Flowers.There will be a private family service held.Memorial Contributions may be directed to the ARL in loving memory of Doris.
