Buhrandt, DonnieDonnie Ernst Buhrandt, age 78 of Mountain, passed away after a long illness at home on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Donnie was born on April 5, 1939 in Oconto Falls to the late Ernst and Lydia (Pfieffer) Buhrandt. Donnie attended St. John Lutheran School before graduating from Suring High School in 1957. On April 29, 1961 Donnie married Judith Zwirschitz at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain. The couple lived in the Breed and Mountain areas for 56 years of their marriage. Donnie worked at Manthei's Cheese Factory, Sweeney Bros Construction, and Suring Public School where he was janitor at the Mountain Grade School for 17 years. He was also a real estate broker for Rupiper Realty for 35 years.Donnie was an active member of Tabor Lutheran Church and held many church positions. He was a member of the Mountain Fire Department for 47 years and Fish-O-Rama was his favorite time to work with all of the guys. Donnie also helped out driving ambulance. In 2010, he was honored by the Rural Urban Committee for his volunteer work. Donnie was also an Oconto County Board Supervisor and he was active in the Horse Shoe Club for many years. He further served as fire warden for 24 years. Donnie is survived by his wife, Judy; 2 daughters, Deanna (Jeff) Tachick of Suring and Jayne (Pete) Fitzmaurice of Appleton; 2 grandchildren, Donald (fiancée Brooke Daelke) Tachick and William Tachick; brothers, Wallace (Genny) Buhrandt, August (Joy) Buhrandt, Ray (Shirley) Buhrandt, Norman (Paula) Buhrandt; sisters, Alice (Edgar) Jaeger, Pat (Howard) Jossie, Carol Thompson, Nancy (Jim) Jossie; sisters-in-law, Margaret Zwirschitz of Clintonville and Darlene Buhrandt of Suring. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; three brothers; three sisters; 3 brothers-in-law.Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain from 9 am until the funeral service at 12 pm with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Donnie will be interred in Mountain Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
