Donna Lee DiggsPort Hueneme, CADonna Lee Diggs departed this earth on October 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Elden Diggs, mother, Myrlene Diggs, and brother, Dan Diggs. She is survived by her sister Darlene Lloyd, brother-in-law, Butch Lloyd, sister-in-law Lily Diggs, nephews and niece, Greg Mitchell, Tawnya O'Neil, Kris Lloyd, Joshua Diggs, Matthew Diggs and their families. While Donna did not have children of her own, she shared her joy and happiness through her extended family and their children, Hailey, Madison, Sarah, Aidan, Avery, Hannah and Lauren.Donna was born on January 31, 1942 in Southgate, California. She attended Ventura High School, graduating in 1959 and continued her education at Chico State University, graduating in 1966. Because of her love of children and sports, she pursued her career in teaching, focusing on Physical Education. She taught at Royal High School in Simi Valley for over three decades, where she met an abundance of students who later became life long friends.Donna was enthusiastic about all sports, with a special love for her Los Angeles Sparks, the Los Angeles Clippers and of course NASCAR. Jeff Gordon was her favorite! Another passion was her love of cats. From a very young age, there was never a time where she did not have one or more cats sitting in her lap or at her feet in bed.Donna had an energetic and magnetic personality. People were drawn to her because she made them feel welcome and loved. Her voice carried and everyone knew that Donna had arrived! She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of getting to know her.Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 12 noon at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 757 E. Main Street, Ventura.
