Rodney, Donna L.Donna L. Rodney, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, passed away at home peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2016.She was born on April 23, 1937 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Lester & Mayme (Witt) Hembel Sr. Donna was a graduate of Southern Door High School, Class of 1955. On December 8, 1956 she married Donald J. Rodney at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Bay. He preceded her in death in September of 1986. Donna received her nursing assistant certification. She was employed with Mirro Aluminum Company for 10 years as a press operator, worked at Memorial Hospital for 5 years as an assistant in the OB department and then was employed as a CNA for 20 years at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. Donna and her husband were foster parents for several years and they also adopted a child.Survivors include her children: DeNean Marie (Michael) Stadelman, Manitowoc, David Rodney Sr., Two Rivers; her grandchildren: Michael Stadelman Jr. and special friend Cheyenne Bender, Manitowoc, PFC David (Mia) Rodney Jr., Colorado Springs, Dylan Rodney and special friend Haley Deprey, Mishicot; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Elean Weckler, Sturgeon Bay, Carol & Edmund Blise, Florida, Joanne & Jerry Kimber, Sturgeon Bay, Sandra Raynier, Mishicot; and two brothers and sisters-in-law: Darold & Audrey Hembel, Brussels and Lester & Pam Hembel, Antigo. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law: Darlene & Tim Rohr and Gerald Weckler. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Co-celebrating at the Service will be the Revs. Stephen Melso and Robert Kujawski. Donna will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 until 10:45 a.m.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.pfefferfuneralhome.comThe Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.The family will like to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Aurora at Home and to the staff at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, for their care and compassion shown towards Donna and her family.
