SNEADS FERRY | Donald Charles ""Chuck"" Thompson, 64, of Sneads Ferry, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday at Salem Baptist Church with Pastors O.S Bain and Tommy Yopp officiating. Chuck was born on August 11, 1950, in Ft. Bragg. He moved to Sneads Ferry as a child. After graduating from Dixon High School he attended drafting school at Massey Technical Institute in Jacksonville, FL. In 1973, Chuck began working with his father at Eastern Builders. He continued in the family business with his brother for 43 years where he served as the president of the company. Chuck attended Salem Baptist Church where he loved serving his church family and the surrounding community. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Donald F. Thompson.He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jean Thompson of the home; one son, Donald Charles Thompson II of Sneads Ferry; three daughters, Elizabeth Patrice Thompson of Wilmington, Sarah Thompson Holden of Jacksonville and Amanda Catherine Thompson of Sneads Ferry, one son-in-law, John Holden and one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Thompson; his mother, Pat Thompson of Sneads Ferry; two brothers, Gary F. Thompson and Thomas E. Thompson; sister-in-law, Faye Thompson of Sneads Ferry; six grandchildren; one uncle, Billy E. Byrd and aunt, Marilyn Bryd of Fayetteville; nine nieces and nephews; and special 'daughter,' Jennifer Citarelli.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday morning, prior to the service, at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes 445-N Western Blvd. Jacksonville, NC 28546 or Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
