Donald L. Sankwich "The Duke" Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on February 18th, 2017. He was born on July 10th, 1936 in Berkeley, CA and was raised in the Puyallup area where he stayed for his whole life. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1954 and enlisted in the Navy shortly thereafter. He worked for 30 years for the Pierce County Road District. Don met the love of his life, Rosie, whom he married on November 12th, 1955 and who preceded him in death after 55 years of marriage. He loved watching sports and being outdoors, especially his passion of hunting and clam digging, but nothing meant more to him than family. He was also preceded in death by his youngest son, Keith Sankwich. Don is survived by sons, Doug Sankwich (Debbie), Ken Sankwich (Connie) and daughter, Kelly Ann Kelly (Eugene). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Jennifer (Jayson), Jeremy (Lauren), Kristin (Barrett), Berntina, Sammi (Ben), Devon, Jasmine and great-grand daughters: Rosalie and Rose. Don is also survived by his beloved friend, Sharon Tupa. A private inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma.
