DONALD R. MILEY Don was born on November 9, 1925 in Washington, Indiana. He passed away on October 14, 2011 in Mission Hills, California. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Betty Jean Miley who passed away in May, 2008. Don served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Saratoga whose home port was Pearl Harbor. After being discharged in San Francisco Don came to Southern California where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life. Don worked in the swimming pool service industry for 60 years. He was a life long member of IPSSA of which he is a past president and long time board member. Because of Don's involvement with the Spark of Love Toy Drive Don was made an Honorary Fire Chief with a celebration at Fire Station 70 in Northridge. Don is survived by three sons, Stephen (Gail), Alan (Gail) and Rob. Also three loving grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew and Kristin who will miss him immensely. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sertoma (Spark of Love) c/o IPSSA, 10032 Petit Ave., North Hills, CA 91343.
