Donald Herschel Robbins75, of Danville, passed away on November 6, 2016 in Avon Healthcare. He was born on March 23, 1941 in Indianapolis. He grew up in North Salem and lived most of his life in Danville, IN. Don was previously employed at Rolls-Royce Corporation, Allison Gas Turbine, Allison Engine Company and FMC as a powerhouse operator. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Army in Alaska, and he was also a member of the American Legion, Post #118.Surviving are his daughter, Renee Buchanan and husband, Mike; daughter, Donna Hurtman and husband, Todd; four grandchildren, Brandon Buchanan, Kristen Buchanan, James Hurtman, Haley Hurtman; and one great grandchild, Jaylin Ketcherside. Other surviving family members include his former wife Alice Adkins; brothers, Dave and Jack, and sisters, Deloris and Linda. Preceding his death was his 8 month old son, James in 1966. Also preceding his death was his wife of 36 years, Barbara Ann in 1997.Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Pastor Larry Edwards from New Maysville Christian Church will be officiating. Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
