Dixie L (Hollis) Amerson was born on July 31, 1936 in Sulligent, Alabama, to Gent Hollis and Annie (Kidd) Hollis. Dixie was to second oldest of 12 siblings.

She moved to Robbins, IL in 1957.

Dixie accepted Christ into her life at a early age and was a member of the Harvey Church of Christ and a faithful member until the Lord called her home at the age of 89 surrounded by family at her bedside, on November 8, 2025.
