Dixie BrownMadrid, IowaDixie Brown, 75, passed away on December 7, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on August 3, 1941, and was a life-long resident in Des Moines.Dixie married Robert on May 3, 1968 and spent 48 beautiful years together. It brought her much joy helping people throughout various positions at restaurants. Dixie recently retired from Nation Wide where she worked as an underwriter. She especially cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren & two puppies who were her pride and joys.Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert G. Brown; son, Brian R. Brown; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 half-siblings.She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben G. Virchow and Lyla H. Beers; son, Charles V. Brown; and sister, Cora Lee Pierce.Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 13th, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
