Dionisia Ishihara Planas Llanto passed away early on February 18, 2016.She was born on September 1, 1925 in Honolulu Hawai' i, however, grew up in Cebu City, Philippines. She was 90 years old.Dionisia was a well-known business woman who supplied livestock and pork to the Aboitiz Shipping Company. She was also remembered for being a generous provider, not only to her own family, but also to her neighborhood and community. Almost everyone in the community lovingly called her Nanay. Dionisia was a devote Catholic who attended church every Sunday and prayed the rosary every evening. She was a devotee of St. Anthony de Padua where every June 13th Dionisia hosted a festival to celebrate his honor. For the festival, Dionisia would butcher a caribou or cow and then share the abundance with theneighbors. As word spread about her generosity, Dionisia established a ticket system to ensure that all those in attendance could celebrate in the food and goodies she collected to share.Dionisia was cultured, always in style with the latest fashion luxuries. She enjoyed many different movie genres and regularly traveled back and forth between the U.S. and the Philippines up until she could no longer physically make the long trip overseas. Dionisia loved to play mahjong, so much so that her husband built her a personal "mahjong house" on the family compound. Dionisia was passionate for animals, especially dogs. Throughout the years, her home always included a four-legged furry friend. Some of the dogs included in her family were Tiger, Draculs, Krom, Tootsie, Pasty, and Spike. Above all, Dionisia loved her family and always did whatever she could to provide a loving home for each member. Although Dionisia was a wife and mother to two, she truly was mother-like to all who came in contact with her, especially nurturing to those who would help in her household. These people were genuinely part of her family and treated as such, always sitting with her at her table to share meals and build lifelong memories. The relationships she had with them reflected in their loyalty to her over the years, spanning 30+ years of friendship and love. She will be missed by all who knew her.She is preceded in death by her parents, Nora Ishihara and MagdalenoPlanas; her brothers Alvin and Donald, and sister Evelyn Ruth Planas; her husband Digno Tenchavez L1anto; and son-in-law Nicandro Abella Saceda.
