Our Dearest mother Dina went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2016 surrounded by family. Mom was born on February 16, 1931 in Austin, Texas to Inez and Maria Herrera. It was in Austin where she met her future husband of 61 years, David Pichardo.Mom was baptized on December 10, 1972 and remained a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Arvin for 44 years. She served as Deaconess and loved being the Nursery School Teacher.She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Inez and Maria Herrera, and step mother Catarina Herrera, and brothers Refugio, Jesus, Jose, Samuel (Infant), and Samuel. Dina is survived by her daughters Ruth Harris, Martha McGuire and husband Michael, Mary Carpenter and husband David, son Joel Pichardo, grandchildren Justin Harris, Eric Pichardo, Joshua Carpenter, Corey Carpenter, Melinda Wilmot, and Kimberly McGuire, great-grandchildren include Hosanna Carpenter, Josiah Carpenter, Steven Harris, Ethen Wilmot, Phoebe and Avarey McDonald.Special thanks go to Dr. Jorge Del Toro and the staff at Mohawk Medical and Dr. Harold Baer and staff at Central Nephrology Group.Visitation will be Thursday night, October 27 from 6-8pm at Arvin Funeral Home located at 600 Tucker Street, Arvin, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning at 10am at Valle of Life Church located at 500 Campus Drive in Arvin. Interment will follow at South Kern Cemetery District.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Calvary Baptist Church Mission Fund.
