Nelson, DickeyNELSON, Dickey, 82, of Prattville, passed away Friday March 17, 2017. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Monday March 20th at Ridout's Prattville Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life with Military Honors at 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Nelson was born on September 15, 1934 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Kye Nelson and Mattie Exa Jacobs Nelson. He was a Korean War era veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He operated his own transmission repair shop in Prattville for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, yard work and was a Golden Glove Boxing Champion while serving in the Air Force. He was known to be a hard worker and will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Nelson; three sons, Kyle Nelson and his wife Lori, Jason Nelson, Brent Nelson and his wife Erica; seven grandchildren, Dalton Nelson, Cody Nelson, Kaylen Nelson, Janie Nelson, Peyton Plyler, Zack Nelson, Harper Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends.
