Diane M. Foltz, age 63, of Mill Village, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital. Born and raised in Boston, Mass., Diane was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Brennan Rockwood, born on May 14, 1953. In 1971, she traveled to Cambridge Springs to attend Alliance College and earned her degree four years later in 1975. She was married to Daniel W. Foltz on August 27, 1977, and lived in the Mill Village area ever since. Diane worked until two years ago as a paraprofessional at Fort LeBoeuf Middle School. Before that, she and her late mother-in-law, Jean Foltz, operated D & J Ceramics in Mill Village for many years. Diane loved being a grandma and thoroughly enjoyed her nine grandchildren - Daniel III and Isaac Foltz, Austa Skenderski, Abby Kuhn, Jada, Nevaeh, and Bella Foltz, and Keven and Maryann Nearhoof. She was a member of All Saints Parish in Waterford, a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, she enjoyed gardening and, most recently, was obsessed with jigsaw puzzles. In addition to her grandchildren, Diane is survived by her husband, Dan; five children - Daniel W. Foltz Jr. and his wife, Pauline of Mill Village, Marie Skenderski of Waterford, Dara Kuhn and her husband Mark of Mill Village, Tabatha Foltz of Mill Village, and Katie Mitchell and her husband Chuck of Union City. Also, Diane has a brother, Richard Rockwood and wife Sharon of Marshfield, Mass.; and father-in-law, Russell Foltz. She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Jean Foltz. Friends may visit at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Services will begin there Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Church, Rt. 97N, Waterford at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Gregory Passauer as celebrant.
