It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Desiree Riggs, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Desiree passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2025, at the age of 53.

Desiree was born on May 21, 1970, and spent her life devoted to her family, her community, and her passions. As a stay-at-home wife, she dedicated her time to her husband, Henry Riggs, offering him unwavering love and support. A kind and compassionate soul, Desiree’s heart was open to helping others, and she volunteered for both the Women's Crisis Center and the local animal shelter. Her tireless efforts to improve the lives of others reflected her deep commitment to social justice, a cause she held close throughout her life.

In addition to her volunteer work, Desiree was a talented craft maker who found joy in creating beautiful, handmade items that brought smiles to those around her. Her creativity was a reflection of her vibrant personality and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.

Desiree is survived by her loving husband, Henry Riggs, her three brothers, Clayton, Christopher, and Stephan Smith, as well as her cherished nieces, Carla and Jaqueline, and nephew, Claude Jr. She also leaves behind a network of friends and extended family who will forever remember her kindness, generosity, and the light she brought into their lives.

Desiree's love for animals, her commitment to helping others, and her dedication to her family will never be forgotten. In honor of her memory, the family requests that donations be made to a women's crisis center or animal shelter of your choice.

She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, but her spirit and the impact of her work will continue to inspire those who carry on her legacy of compassion and love.
