Deon Closson was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence was impossible to ignore and impossible to replace. Known as both funny and stern, Deon had a way of keeping everyone in line while still making them laugh. As the older brother, he carried himself with quiet responsibility, always watching, always caring—even when he didn’t say much.
Deon endured profound loss in his life, taking especially hard the passing of both his mother and father to diabetes. Their deaths left a deep mark on his heart, made even heavier by the fact that he, too, lived with the same condition. Still, Deon kept going, carrying his grief with strength that often went unseen.
He leaves behind two sisters, Shadee and Shyasia, and a younger brother, Daivon. Deon shared a particularly close bond with Daivon—the kind of bond where words weren’t always needed. The two were often seen together, off doing something out of the usual, sharing moments that now live on as cherished memories. Though Deon could be to himself, his love for his siblings ran deep and steady.
Deon was fun-loving in his own way, loyal, and present. He showed up. And that is how he will be remembered—not only for his humor or his firmness, but for the love he gave and the space he held in the lives of those who knew him.
It saddens us to be here again, mourning another loss after the passing of his mother and father. Yet even in this grief, we honor Deon Closson for the life he lived, the family he loved, and the memories that will continue to speak his name.
Rest in peace, Deon. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
You can to the family or in memory of Deon Closson.
