Delbert Coy Searcy, lovingly known as "Dad" or "Papa Coy," passed away peacefully at his home in Potosi, Texas, on June 17, 2025, at the age of 88.
Coy was born in Cross Plains, Texas, on June 29, 1936, to Thomas Jefferson Searcy and Ada Muriel Botts. He married Janet Sue Allen in 1963 in Abilene, Texas, where they shared 30 years of marriage until her passing in 1993. In 1997, he married Lillan Cowart, and they were together until her passing in 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ada; his beloved Aunt Ola; three brothers; two sisters; two nieces; one nephew; and one stepdaughter, Sherry Hanson.

- Mike Searcy and family - Pilot Point, TX
- Stepson Edgar Cowart
He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and love.
Coy spent much of his working life with Foremost and Child Ready Mix. He found peace working his land, riding his tractor, spending time with his large family, and being active in his church community. His strength, faith, and steady presence were the foundation of his family.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, dependable brother, cherished uncle, and dear friend. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven, free of pain and surrounded by loved ones.
