Declan Isaac Benton, also known as Deschi, entered this world on December 19, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia. Tragically, he departed from us on September 3, 2023, at the tender age of 2, in Norfolk, Virginia. Deschi, a beloved son, brother, and nephew, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Deschi was a ray of sunshine, always adorned with the brightest smile. His infectious laughter and genuine desire to make friends left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He found joy in watching Ms. Rachel videos, playing with his monster trucks, and spending quality time with his older brother and sister.

Deschi is survived by his loving father, Ishmael Benton, his cherished sister, Esther Benton, and his adored brother, Dominic Benton. He is also mourned by his uncle, Keith Benton, as well as his aunts, Katelyn and Greyson Benton-Hart. Deschi's family is heartbroken by the loss of their precious little one.

Deschi was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Yitzak Benton, his cherished grandmother, Ruthie Benton, his aunt, Taylor Benton, and his mother, Martha Horran. Their memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

In honor of Deschi's memory, the family kindly requests that anyone wishing to pay their respects wear the color purple on Friday, September 7th. This gesture symbolizes their support for Epilepsy awareness, a cause close to their hearts.

The family has decided not to hold a public service at this time. However, they deeply appreciate the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time.

Deschi's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he find eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
