She was born on Sept. 9, 1960, in Craig, Colo., to Lee F. Mace and Shirley A. Maricle. Debra's family moved to Vernal, Utah, shortly after Debra was born. After graduating from Utah State University, Debra lovingly taught kindergarten and preschool at Morningside School, in Logan, for 19 years. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Primary, Young Women and Relief Society.
