Dawn Morris, a radiant light in the lives of those who knew her.” Born on June 9, 1966 to parents Gloria Smith and Thomas Morris passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 59 in Brooklyn, NY,

Dawn embodied love, laughter, and generosity. She was a proud product of the New York public school system, which was a source that nurtured her growth. Dawn’s presence illuminated the room she entered and her legacy will continue through her beloved son, Xavier who was her pride and joy and through all of the people whose hearts were touched by her warm and loving presence.

Dawn's greatest joys were her family, and eating good food especially when her mother made pig feet. Dawn was delighted in sharing stories, and bringing people together around the table. These moments will be the source of our fond memories of Dawn.

Dawn is survived by her beloved son Xavier, her loving mother Gloria Smith; her devoted sisters, Tanya, Linda, Leslie, and Robin; her dearest brothers, Thomas and Vance; 18 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and nephews; 4 great-great-nieces and nephews; her aunt, Arlene; her God daughter who she truly adored Shaquana and a hosts of cousins, friends and associates.

Preceded in death by her father, Thomas Morris; sister, Donna; and aunt, Audrey.

Although there will be a void in our lives now that Dawn has transitioned, we are here to celebrate Dawn's life and we give thanks to have memories of her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and her unwavering love to follow us through the days of our lives.
