David Daryle "Smitty" Smith 1950~2016 Gulfport David Daryle "Smitty" Smith, age 66, of Gulfport passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. David was born on September 12, 1950 in Beardstown, IL. He was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast and a Chief Engineer for Broadwater Beach Hotel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Arlene Smith; and sister, Carol Montgomery. Survivors include his loving companion of 18 years, Julie Wescovich Grandy; sister, Linda Smith; brother, Steve (Jana) Smith; daughters, Tina Poulos and Tonya Grandy; and granddaughter, Carrie Barfield. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Douglas Lanier for his care and compassion.
