This obituary is administered by:
Cummings, David R.David R. Cummings "Dave," of Wild Rose, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family at home on April 12th, 2017. He was 58. David was born on Friday, March 13th, 1959 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, to Thomas Cummings and Lorraine Bates. He spent his childhood working on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. He loved working on cars, fixing things around the house and pulling pranks on his siblings.Sporting his famous mustache and 90's mullet, he married his soul mate Melissa Cummings (Schwobe) on May 12th, 1995 at a little white chapel in Medina, Wisconsin. They were married for almost 22 years, and together for 31 years. Together, they raised three children, along with a few tarantulas and lizards, countless fish and his most prized possession, his dog, Lucky. David was a talented and highly skilled welder for Fox River Fabrication for 21 years until the business closed down in 2010. He took great pride in the work he did and was a mentor to many of his co-workers throughout the years. David is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Melissa Cummings; his daughter, Megan Schwobe (special friend, John Yacks); and his two sons, Darron Cummings (fiancé, Courtney Kellner) and Dillon Cummings. He leaves behind seven brothers and sisters; Mike (Jody) Cummings, Tim (Nancy) Cummings, Pat (Jerry) Letcher, Pam Cummings, Greg (Keri) Cummings, Lisa (Dan) Kowals and Brian (Julie) Cummings; a close uncle who David considered to be a second father, Kenny Cummings; father-in-law, Sidney Kroeger; close friends, Jared Long, John Berghuis and Bruce Pelky; and all of his "welding family" from Fox River Fabrication. He is further survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas Cummings and Lorraine Bates; close cousin, Billy Cummings; mother-in-law, Marilyn Kroeger; and close friends, Eugene Delcore and Jeff Berghuis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of David on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, at 10:00am, with visitation from 9:00am-10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, located at 300 2nd Street in Baraboo, WI, with Father Jay Poster presiding. A small gathering will take place following the burial at David and Melissa's home located at 547 Park Ave in Wild Rose, WI.A special thank you goes to our mother, Melissa. Mom—the love and care you provided to dad over the last five years has been nothing short of humbling. We know it wasn't always easy, but you never complained. Because of you, dad was able to live and die at home even when everyone said "just put him in a nursing home." You sacrificed your own needs to ensure dad's were all met. You always treated him with dignity and respect. And most importantly, you showed all of us what it truly means to be by someone's side "through sickness and in health." Thank you for being dad's guardian angel. We love you, and dad does too.
You can to the family or in memory of David Cummings.
