David Lee PavelWest Des MoinesDavid L. Pavel, 72, of West Des Moines, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017 due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. A visitation will be held at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 27 concluding with a 6:30 p.m. Time of Sharing.David was born on February 22, 1945 in Leavenworth, KS, to Louis and Jeroma Pavel, and was raised in Clarkson, NE. He graduated Clarkson High and went on to graduate from Wayne State, Central Missouri State, and Des Moines Area Community College. Dave served with the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He married Lynn Ann Schildroth on January 12, 1980.Dave worked for the City of Des Moines, Greyhound, Drake University, and retired from Wells Fargo. He loved fishing, golfing and the Huskers. Dave was devoted to his family and friends who will miss him greatly.David was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeroma, and his brother, Duane. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Sarah (Patrick) Rutledge; granddaughters, Zaidee Lynn and Adeline Louise Rutledge; brother-in-law, Dennis (Donna) Schildroth; nephew, David (Kristen) Schildroth and niece, Kathryn (Paul) Moritz; great nephew, Nathan Schildroth and great niece, Lily Moritz; numerous cousins; and dear friends, Joyce and Ivan Dean. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial at Kavanagh House.
