Pittl, David A.David A. Pittl, age 82, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, November 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born on March 8, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Mark and Anna (Held) Pittl. He moved to Lamartine, WI as a young boy to work on the family farm. Even though farming was in his blood he chose to spend his career in the family business, Pittl Heating and Sheet Metal until he retired in 2005. Dave served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a "Sea Bee", building a naval base on the island of Barbados.On May 2, 1958 David married Alice Lemke at the Assembly of God in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2011. Dave was an avid Packer fan and was proud to say he was at the "Ice Bowl" and stayed until the bitter end. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, softball, horseshoes, and early coffee with the boys. What he missed the most was driving his Harley Fatboy motorcycle.Dave is survived by his three daughters, Patti (Roy) Asmus of Pickett, Polly (Kevin) Whealon of Fond du Lac, and Jodi Pittl of North Fond du Lac; grandchildren include, Jessica (Ben) Benesh, Shane (Melissa) Asmus, Sarah Whealon and Max Whealon; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Addison, and Georgia Benesh; one brother, Frank (Claudia) Pittl; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice; and two brothers, Mark and Neal. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 3-6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 6:00 PM.
