Otto, David A.David A. Otto, age 50, a resident of Valders, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Dave was born on November 3, 1964 in Manitowoc to Judy (Pankratz) Otto and the late Warren Otto. He graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1983. On November 28, 1986, Dave married Jill Wagner at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Dave always had a love for farming and took over Otto Farms in 1994, and in 2007 Liberty Sand and Gravel after his father's passing. He took extreme pride in his business and had recently expressed that he had accomplished his goals of being a successful farmer and businessman.Dave had many hobbies and interest outside of farming, especially collecting quality equipment and machinery, which was noted by anyone that drove past the farm. He enjoyed traveling with his son to numerous tractor pulls competing and always putting on a show for the crowd. Florida was his favorite vacation spot that he couldn't wait to make his yearly trip with his wife, children, and grandchild. His Sunday afternoons where spent at the pond with his family and close friends where he enjoyed fishing and entertaining. Dave's pride in his life was his granddaughter Sophia, they shared many memorable times together and had an extremely close bond; he was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new grandbaby in February. Many times it was heard from Dave that in the end it doesn't matter what you have, all that matters is your family, and he proved this everyday by working hard to make sure his family was provided for.He is survived by his wife: Jill; four children: Brittany (Scott) Bastian, Drew, Brooke (and significant other Ben Spellich), and Bailey; a very special granddaughter who was his best friend and little princess: Sophia Bastian; mother: Judy; and sisters Laurie (Mark) Andrastek and Joy (Lloyd) Otto-Stahl and their families, and a grandmother Naomi Otto, along with many other loved family members including the Reis family. He is preceded in death by his father Warren Otto.Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Beaudry with cremation to follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date.
