David Allen Tention or “Tito” as his friends called him, was born on September 3rd, 1975 to Wendy and Wayne Tention in New Rochelle, New York . After graduating from New Rochelle High school in 1994, David moved to Atlanta, Georgia to live with his Granny and Poppy, Mary-Ann and Grady Boyce.

In the same year of 1994, David met his first wife Dara Telesford in Atlanta. In 1996, at the age of twenty (20) years old, Dara and David would have their first child and David became a first time father to his only son, Shamyr Hasan Tention. In 1998, they welcomed their daughter, Nasya Renee’ Tention. 

Later, David and Pam Releford would later welcome their daughter Jetta Paige Tention in 2001. David was very proud to be a father to his three children, but he was extremely excited about being a grandfather which he thoroughly enjoyed for the last three years.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, eating good food, listening to music and was an avid New York Giants fan. He started his career as a security guard. He also served as a Corrections Officer in the state of Georgia. David would later find his career sweet spot with Lazer Logistics company where he dedicated his time professionally for seventeen (17) years. 

Throughout those years at Lazer Logistics, David worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the Divisional Project Manager. Travel for work kept David away from his home base in Atlanta, but he would often express his love for his job and his love for travel.

David Allen Tention departed this earthly life on July 10th, 2023. 

He leaves to cherish his life and legacy his Children: Shamyr Tention, Nasya Tention, Jetta Tention; Grandchildren: Jacey Sarai Tention and Josiah Williams; Great Aunt: Ruby Cherry; Sisters: Alena Woodhouse and Sharon Anderson; Niece: Jani’sha Hayes; Cousins: Temetria Cherry, Kenneth Cherry, Lorne Williams and Kawanna Watts; Brother In-laws: Lenny Hayes and Skyler Woodhouse; And a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
