We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Darrick Brooks, who was born on January 16, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Darrick peacefully departed from this world on May 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Darrick was the beloved son of Clyde and Johnnie Mae Caruthers. He is survived by his partner, Shannon Trainor, and two children Darrick Thomas and Ramone, and five adoring grandchildren.

Darrick attended Calumet High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

Throughout his life, Darrick was a pillar of strength and support for those around him. His sense of humor and positive outlook on life touched the hearts of all who knew him.

The world has lost a truly remarkable individual, but Darrick's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
