Darren Ellis, 48, of Utica, New York, passed away on November 13, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1976. Sadly Darren lost his life to gun violence at the age of 48. Darren was son to Daisy and James Ellis and had 4 other siblings. Darren was known for his being an amazing friend, father, and husband.

Darren was a high school graduate of Thomas R Proctor High School, and went to further his education at Mohawk Valley Community College. All though he didn’t finish college he did indeed choose an amazing career at the casino racetrack.

Darren was such an inspirational soul that anyone good come up and ask him for advice. He was very interested in horse track riding, which where he worked at. And also spent most of his time enjoying betting on horses. He also enjoyed his time with his family as he always organized the family reunions.

Darren leaves behind 2 children and 1 grandchild on the way. His legacy will be remembered and forever shown through his 2 daughters Dejauné Ellis (25) and Dashanti Ellis(22).
