Darlene Blockton, 62, died Wednesday Nov. 4, 2020 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Darlwne was born in Elkhart, IN on December 16, 1957. She was the daughter of Katherine Blockton and Leo Blockton.

She attended Hawthorne Elementary in Elkhart. She moved to St.Louis for a period and attended St.louis Public Schools before moving back to Elkhart to obtain her G.E.D. She also received her CNA license and took pride in being able to take care of people.

She attended St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church as a young girl until she moved to St.Louis,MO in 1977. Her most recent church home was God First Church also known as “The Purple Church.” Due to her illness she had not been able to attend church regularly.

Darlene leaves to cherish her fond memories and will be greatly missed by her three daughters; Qkwanejia “Redd” Grant, Alexxcia Draper, And Atiya Hudson all of Elkhart MO; four stepchildren; Heather Hudson of Malden, MO, Meyaka Hudson-Matthews of Columbia, MO, Hernandez Hudson of Dexter, MO, and Jasper Austin of Atlanta, GA, two godchildren; MeKayla Williams and Miguel Brown of Sikeston, MO, four sisters; Sherri (Steven) Baker of Sikeston, MO, India Suggs of Milledgeville, GA , Ida Smallwood and Lucinda Smallwood of Milwaukee, WI, three sisters-in-law; Lucy (Hallie) Bonner and Josie Hudson of Sikeston, MO, Rosie (Steven) Johnson of Fort Worth, TX, two brothers, Byran Bethea of Cassopolis, MI and Deon Suggs of Milledgeville, GA, brothers-in-law; Roosevelt Hudson of Sikeston, MO and Albert Hudson of Sikeston, MO, twelve grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She also leaves to cherish her beloved Godsisters; Tamera West-Johnson of Chicago, IL, Sondra Luttrell of Jackson, TN, Kaye Moore of Paducah, KY, Shameka Howard- Willis of St. Louis, MO, Shelby White, Brenda Williamson, Angela Eckles, Bonita Jackson-Simmons all of Sikeston, MO.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, November 9, 2020 at Ronald L. Jones Funeral Chapels, 2161 East Fair Avenue, St.Louis, Missouri 63107 , with Pastor Rev. Eddie E. Morris Jr officiating. Charles Lawshe\' is the Overseer. Visitation will begin 10am-2pm.

Masks are required during the service and social distance when possible.
