It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Darla Stewart, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She peacefully left this world on September 28, 2023, and leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and compassion.

Born on March 6, 1935, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Darla was the daughter of John and Mary Stewart. From a young age, she possessed a kind and gentle spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness resonated with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Darla was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Joe Bob Stewart, with whom she shared many years of happiness and cherished memories. Their love was a remarkable example for their children and all those around them.

As a mother, Darla was incredible. She poured her heart and soul into raising her three children, Twuana, Tonya and Twyla. Her unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love were the foundation that allowed her children to flourish and succeed in life.

Family was everything to Darla, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. They brought immense joy and happiness into her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Nana, as she was lovingly called, was always there to nurture, encourage, and uplift her grandchildren, instilling in them values of kindness, empathy, and resilience.

Darla had a passion for life that was infectious. She was an active member of her community, dedicating her time and energies to various charitable causes and organizations. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she often put the needs of others above her own. Her community benefited greatly from her caring presence and indomitable spirit.

Known for her green thumb, Darla had a deep appreciation for nature and spent many hours in her garden, tending to her vibrant flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing and vibrant personality.

In her free time, Darla loved to read, taking solace in the pages of her favorite novels. She had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was always eager to engage in meaningful conversations on a vast array of topics. Her intellectual curiosity and insightful discussions were cherished by all who had the opportunity to engage with her.

Darla Stewart touched the lives of countless people with her compassion, grace, and light. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her daughters ,Tonya and Twyla; grandchildren; and her loving extended family and friends.

A celebration of Darla's life will be held on September 30,2023, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the funeral home.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
