Danny L. Cox, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2018 after a battle with cancer. His body gave out but his spirit fought until the very end. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Cox and Lillie M. Cox, sisters Barbara Ann St. Claire, Marion Eloise Young, Bonnie Sue Graham, Eula Frances Thomas, brother Jerry Lee Cox, and daughter Danielle Leigh Cox. He is survived by sisters Brenda Joyce Hayes, Mary Jo Laprad, Peggy Joan Miller, brother William Thomas Cox, long time girlfriend Dana Wilkerson, his son Danny Lee Cox, 3 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam war and proud to be from a family with many other veterans. He will be greatly missed but is free of the chains of this life and has moved on to the next. 

Per his wishes he has been cremated and a small service will be held in his honor. The service will be on Saturday, December 22nd, at 1pm. It will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy (2301 Roanoke Ave) at 1pm. Come and celebrate his life.
