Daniel M Loera, our loving father, passed away on Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM at the age of 66. Dan was born on February 4, 1951 to Jose and Ramona Loera and grew up with his four brothers and sisters in Hacienda Heights, CA. He served his country in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne division during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star for his courage in combat.Dan was a caring and intelligent man who was devoted to his family. He had a heart of gold and encouraged his sons to trust in their faith and to show compassion, charity and goodwill towards others. He instilled in them the importance of higher education combined with common sense and he was passionate about learning, having taught himself computer programming and systems in the early 1980's that led to a successful career in Information Technology. He enjoyed family trips that involved camping, hiking, the outdoors and visiting historic towns and ruins of the Old West.He is survived by his two sons, Michael and Danny, and his four brothers and sisters: Joe Loera, Eloise De Leon, Lou O'Briant, and Robert Loera.Funeral services will be held at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, CA at 8 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
