Higgenbotham, Daniel E.Daniel E. Higginbotham, age 90, of Wausau died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Elder Services.Daniel was born on September 30, 1926 in Boaz, WI to the late Everett L. and Christina M. (Hanson) Higginbotham. He was united in marriage to Jeanette V. Meyer in 1959. She survives and resides in Wausau.Daniel was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi River. He was an avid flea marketer. He and Jeanette enjoyed winters in Florida and flea marketing their way down and back.Daniel served in the US Army in World War II and the US Air Force during the Korean War.He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Warren Lodge 4 of Potosi, WI; the VFW and .Survivors in addition to his wife include son Daniel (Margaret) Higginbotham of Wausau and 2 grandsons, Jacob Higginbotham of Janesville, WI and Nathaniel Higginbotham of Richmond, VA.Daniel was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice, Jane Bloecher, Julie Morris, and Julie Gadke of CCCW, Cedar Ridge Elder Services of Schofield, Homme Adult Day Care and the staff at Wausau VA Clinic.In accordance with Daniel's wishes, private family services will be held.Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.Friends may visit on line at www.strasserrollerfh.com.
