Daniel “Dan” Michaels, 61, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born on September 12, 1964, and was a lifelong resident of Johnstown. He was known for his kind heart, steady presence, and the care he showed to everyone he met. He worked for many years as a school aide, where he built meaningful relationships with students and staff.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and quiet moments at home. He especially loved holidays and family gatherings, where he could often be found sharing stories and laughter. Being a father and grandfather brought him his greatest joy, and he remained devoted to his family throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Abigail Michaels and her husband, Levi Michaels; his son, Brandon Michaels; his grandchildren, Noah Michaels and Lily Michaels; his siblings, Thomas Michaels (Linda), Rebecca Collins (James), and Ethan Michaels; as well as his nieces and nephews, Joshua Michaels, Hannah Collins, Tyler Michaels, Grace Collins, and several other beloved extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Margaret Michaels, and his sister, Emily Michaels.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal funeral or memorial service will be held. His family will honor his life privately.
